As a junior, Nancy competed in hunters, jumpers, and equitation at the major horse shows winning numerous championships and earning ribbons in the equitation finals. She won the PHA High Score Award and the NEHC High Score Award multiple times on her own horses and on horses owned by others. At 18, Nancy became a professional rider showing horses for a number of owners on the A circuit. Shortly thereafter, Nancy started training and teaching and in 1978 Nancy bought Cerulean Farm, a 40 stall facility.

Cerulean Farm has been Nancy’s home and professional location ever since. With the purchase of Cerulean Farm, Nancy expanded her professional activities focusing on training and teaching pony kids, junior riders, and their horses. Cerulean Farm was home to 44 show horses and Nancy’s students competed at all the major shows on the eastern seaboard and indoors, winning championships at Pony Finals, Medals, and Hunters. During this period, Nancy teamed with other professionals to create the New England Equitation Finals. In the 1990s, Nancy scaled back her professional activities to spend more time with family. She shifted her professional focus to the training of young horses and eventually leased Cerulean Farm to others.
In 2008, realizing that she missed teaching, Nancy reopened Cerulean Farm and resumed her professional career with a view to establishing a more individualized training and teaching program for a limited number of serious riders.
